Some time ago, I was looking for a food that was good
for me and that I could enjoy.
I wanted the food to be:
- Healthful
- Nutrient dense
- High in protein
- Low in carbohydrate
- Taste good
- Easy to prepare and easy to eat
I was trying to decrease my consumption of meat. Thus, I was looking for something vegetable based.
What might fulfill those criteria?
After thinking about it for a while, I came up with the answer: Seeds!
Seeds contain all that is needed to create and nurture a new plant. So, they must contain
everything to make me healthy and to keep me that way.
Of course, not all seeds have the qualities that I wanted. In addition, gluten is present in some
seeds, such as in some grains, which I did not want.
Thus, I needed to select, and select carefully, the seeds I wanted to include.
I also wanted a food that tastes good.
People often turn to herbs as a source of flavor for foods. In addition, herbs are well known for
their healthful properties. Thus, I started looking for appropriate herbs.
I also wanted a food that is easy to prepare.
Food in the shape of patties, for example hamburgers, are well known for their ease of
preparation.
Thus, the answer to my original quest was: Patties made from seeds and seasoned with herbs!
With a bit more thought, I concluded that these veggie patties should be organic and non-GMO.
